Having grown up in the Vail Valley, when it was a fraction of the size it is now, Malia brings a rare and uniquely local perspective to her business and her clients. Malia earned her Business degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1995 and went on to finish at the top of her class at the University of Denver College of Law. Although Malia still retains her law license to practice in Colorado, she shifted her career focus from law to real estate when she and her husband took over her family’s property management company in 2004. Malia and her husband Jay sold that business after 10 years, enabling Malia to pursue her desired career in luxury real estate and real estate development, and allowing Jay to more fully focus on the family construction, general contracting and development business, Vail Construction Group.

Malia recently achieved the highest sale for 2022 in Eagle County, a property that was also the highest sale of all time for a residence in Edwards, CO. She represented both the Buyer and Seller in that residential transaction, which closed for $40 million in November 2022. She is not only at the top for All Realtors in Eagle County, she was the top agent from LIV Sotheby's International Realty in Eagle County in 2020, 2021 and 2022, and was recognized as within the top 100 Sotheby's International Realty Agents in the world in 2022.
